Rainforest Brown (or Green) Marble?

Aloha Maurizio...I am considering a stone called "rainforest brown" for a kitchen countertop. The salesperson insists that it is NOT marble, but rather closer to a granite or sandstone. I had looked at the same stone when I lived in California and was told it was "marble." Do you have any knowledge of this particular stone? It is beautiful, but I am told its unwise to use marble on a kitchen countertop. Its only my husband & myself, no kids, but my spouse is not tidy...well, more accurately...he's a slob. If it is marble, is there anyway a marble slab and a fossilized slob can co-exist? Mahalo from the Big Island...Sallie

Dear Sallie:

The Big island, huh… I must go there some day!! :-)

Your DH a slob?! ... Get out of town !... It's impossible!!   Look at me for instance: my wife keeps telling me that I'm a slob, but the woman's lying out of her teeth, I'll tell ya!!! LOL

Rainforest green is limestone – a very… weird limestone.

Will it be suitable for your purpose ?...

Run my little lemon juice test on a piece of scrap to find out. If it passes the test, than you're good; if not…

And stop slandering that poor man, will ya?!... LOL

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http:// www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?   :-)

Ciao and good luck,
