giallo atlantico marble

Q.Client would like to use this material as a kitchen counter top. What would be the pro's and con's? How should I instruct the customer on the care of that material?
A. Hi alex- do they want it polished or honed? Honed may be better but not what they want. This material is acid sensitive and probably doesnt belong in a kitchen. If they are folks that are very detail oriented and like things to be perfect this material isnt for them. If they understand the material and can appreciate a matte finish and the etching that will happen in a kitchen enviroment then they should go for it. They will need professional maintenance on occasion to refinish the surface. Make sure to hook them up with a bona fide stone refinisher in your area. If they dont want that type of hassle find a bona fide fabricator who knows stone and will sell them a non porous, acid resistant piece og granite that will never require anything
except cleaning with a ph nuetral cleaner.
