epoxy on granite

Q.epoxy has been smeared on our granite countertop. We are not able to pick it off as it is smeared to thin. Is there any way to remove the epoxy from the granite?
Hi Nicole,Dont worry- get some acetone, single edged razor blade and gloves. Next ventilate the area and be mindful working around stoves and ovens. Acetone is flammable so act accordingly.
Use paper towel or rags. Work in sections wetting the rag and rubbing the affected area. You should see some results
soon enough but acetone evaporates quickly so you will need to keep applying it to the rag. Dont over apply and get sloppy. Acetone will take the finish off your cabinets or anything else that is stained or painted. Once you see results check it with the razor blade if you feel resistance dont force it just go back over it with some acetone.
If you force the blade and the epoxy has bonded to a weak area it could pull off some minerals.
You should be fine. Throw the used rags away safely.
