Dullness on Black Galaxy Granite Counters

Q.Got new counters about a month ago. They had a beautiful deep glasslike shine. I tried to polish out a smudge using Flitz metal polish. The area that I put the Flitz on is now a bit on the grayish black side and not so glossy as the rest. I am beginning to wonder if this granite is doctored/dyed. I wiped the counter with acetone and no color comes off. Wandering if i should try to polish the area or use a product like Tenax Uniblack 1 or 2

Thank you

John
A. John-You used an abrasive polishing compound for metal on your granite. Why waste time putting on shoe polish to cover up the dull spot. Get yourself a bone fide stone refinisher problem solved.
