New tumbled marble floor

Q. We had a tumbled marble floor installed 6 mos. ago and it was installed with some areas of high lipage. How do we correct this? Should we have a stone installer remove the bad stone and reinstall it properly?
A. Yes. Unfortunately this is really the only option with tumbled marble. Your installer should have preped the substrate so this would not be a problem. If it were a polished or honed marble, a pro would be able to flatten it, but because it is tumbled marble, flattening the floor would resolve the lippage but would eliminate the tumbled look of the stone.
