Stain on Indian Black counter

I have a water stain from a leaking fish aquarium and another stain about the size of a 50 cent coin. The second is actually starting to fade, but has a grayish color and spot right in the middle about the size of a pea where there is no discolorization. We've had the counter for about 2 yrs, and I don't know if it was "sealed" from the fabricator - I don't think so. The only care it's received is cleaning w/ soap and water and occasionally I catch my wife using windex. But I've heard windex is not good. Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Scott:

What you're reporting is a bit unusual, considering that you have your countertop for a couple of years already. It's also very unusual (unheard of better define it) that the second “stain” (there's no such thing like a stain lighter than the stained material, no matter what it looks like. Stains are always darker – no exceptions) is kind of disappearing.

Could you please send me a couple of pictures of these discolorations, so that I can try to figure out what the real story is?

Ciao and good luck,
