A granite that looks like marble?

Hi Maurizio, I had cararra marble in my kitchen and loved it and I may go back to it for my new kitchen but first I wanted to see if I could find a black and white granite that is similar looking to marble. Do you know of any granite that has the veined look of marble? It can even be a cream/travertine color like crema marfil because I love that too. As far as black and white granite goes, I did find one called White Alpine from Brazil but my stone supplier says she's having a hard time locating more of it but that it may also be found under a different name. Any granite suggestions for a marble lover? By the way I love your M-6. The blacks and whites in my tumbled marble floor really pops! Thanks! Chrissy

Dear Chrissy:

I'm afraid you're asking your question to the wrong guy… I'm strictly a mechanic. Not only would I make a lousy decorator, but I'm also colorblind to boot!... L

Your best bet is to visit as many stone yard as you can and see if you find what may suit your taste. After that you will run my little lemon juice (and oil) test on a piece of scrap of the stones that you selected and take it from there.

But remember to select the right fabricator, first!!

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?   :-)

Ciao and good luck,
