I just purchased St. Cecilia granite countertops. The seller says it is Sensa by Consentino brand and comes sealed and the seal is guarantted for 15 years. Does this mean it has the permanent resin stuff and should not be sealed? Should I seal it at home anyway?

Now, let me get this straight: the stone comes pre-sealed by the factory with a 15-year warranty.

Sounds pretty good, right?

Yet, instead of relaxing and trying to find out the real important stuff (which does not include the sealing thing), such as how to care for your stone on a daily basis, you want to know if you should seal it again and anyway… Man, this “sealing cult” really got you!!

Do you mind if I tell you that I'm a tad… confused?!... J

The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is far more important than the sealing itself and it's all too often neglected. As you can tell by reading many of this site's postings, you're not likely to get good information about it from your dealer or installer. Don't become another statistic!
