limestone fireplace

Our gas fire fitter tested the fire with water/washing up liquid when he installed the fire in our new limestone fireplace and promptly spilled drops of the liquid on the hearth - How do I now get rid of the stains the spillage has caused?

Dear Janet:
There stains and "stains". "Stains" are things that look like stains but are not stains at all.
For me to advise you on how to procede, I need you to tell me what your stains (or "stains") look like.
Are they darker than the stone? Or are they just a duller spot? Or are they a combination of the two (darker and duller)?
Answer that for me and then I'll tell you what to do.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?   :-)

Ciao and good luck,

Maurizio Bertoli
