TRAVERTINE FLOORS

WE HAVE LIVED IN OUR HOME APPROX 5 MONTHS. MY QUSETION IS I AM NOTICING CRACKS IN OUR TRAVERTINE FLOOR AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT WE DO TO THESE CRACKS? THE TRAVERTINE WAS SET ON CONCRETE SLAB.

Dear Dee:

There's always a reason why tiles crack. Unfortunately, the reason is more than one. So we can have upward cracks, inward (or downward) cracks, or outward cracks.

In certain instances (upward cracks) the replacement of the tile will be the end of the story. But in the case of different cracks there could be structural problems that must be addressed before replacing the damaged tiles.

Only a field inspection by a proven professional could determine the proper course of action to take.
