MB Stone Care MB-4

I need to reseal a 40 year old slate chemestry lab counter will this product hold up to lab acids?

Dear Ron:
No it will not.
Nothing will, including the slate.
In fact, I highly doubt that's slate at all. (If it is slate, throw it out.)
Labs worktops of yore were usually made of soapstone, because it's the only stone on planet earth that withstands any chemical abuse you can throw at it!
If that's the case, you can't seal that stone: it does not absorb a darn thing!
Just sand its surface (I mean sand it with good ol' sandpaper), treat it with some mineral oil and... Tah-Dah!... Brand-new again and ready to go!
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli
