New Build - Granite Seams

I had a new home built and verde butterfly granite installed.  They placed the seams near the sink (which is fine) and then right in the middle of the counter!!  They could have put the seam near the built-in range in order to hide it better...instead it is right in the middle of our countertop workspace.  The granite company told me this is how it works since verde butterfly doesn't come in very long slabs.  Is this normal?  I know they did a sloppy job with the seams, so my thoughts are they did a poor job on everything.  I'm very disappointed.

Dear Kathleen:
Okay, you made your point, and it is not true that VB does not come in larg slabs.
So?... What can I do for you??...
It just seems like you picked the right stone, but the wrong fabricator...
And, BTW, FYI, only in extreme cases, and only if done very competently, seams at the sink and stove range are acceptable. Those are the weakest spots of the entire structure and where seams fail more often.
