Travertine in kitchen

I had my entranceway done in honed beige travertine 3 years ago and it looks great.

At the end of my entranceway, I am currently having my kitchen redone  (5 foot opening from entranceway to kitchen).

I am looking for some advice as to whether to continue with the travertine (i have extras to make the transition) in the kitchen or pick a different stone product altogether. The kitchen will be approx 500sq ft. so i want to get it right.

Any ideas on contrasting stones that are stronger than travertine would be appreciated.

Dear Mike:

You can go on into the kitchen with hone-finished travertine. Due to its heavier duty, however, I would urge you to get the right information and products for its proper care.
