Do you recommend marble in bathroom floors?

My bathroom has 4'x5' non-tub area with a pedastal sink and a toilet. I'm debating between marble and non-slip porcelin tile in that area. Maintenance & Slippery floors are the criteria. Could you please share your opinion? Thanks!

Dear Gasu:

Marble is not slippery – unless it's wet.

However, marble caters to a particular type of customers: people who loves it but reali z e and accept the fact that's more delicate to maintain than other manmade materials.

If practicality is your utmost concern, then porcelain tile is “your man”.
Some of them even look like marble!

Ciao and good luck,
