slippery travertine

I have honed travertine indoors and out on the floors at my new home on the ocean in Hawaii. It is beautiful but very slippery whenever it is wet. We have tried sanding, that did not help. Should we acid wash? Is that dangerous indoors? Thank You!

Dear Marci:
I don't know if acid-washing your travertine tiles will help much. Not only that, but it could also damage and/or remove the filler.
There's no easy solution to your problem, I'm afraid. You should have chosen a different finish, like saw-cut, or tumbled, but it's too late now...:-(

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm? J

Ciao and good luck,
