hey there Maurizio, I just got done (two weeks ago) in stalling black apsolute granite tile (12x12")in my kitchen. Just recently there seems to be an odor comming from the tile. Its kind of a wet dog smell. not very atractive. I havnt decided if the tile is going to be sealed yet so thats another question. What can I do about the smell and what about sealing. I bought the tile from lowes if that means anything Thank you so much for your time!!

About the sealing thing, there's no way that you could possibly seal a stone as dense as black “granite” – no matter which it is. So forget about that.

As for the foul smell… I'm at a total loss. I never even heard of such a thing, sorry. Give ti some time; maybe it's the setting material while is curing… It should go away.

Now remember, it's never too early to think about the proper maintenance of your stone. The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is far more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable, which in your particular case it is not) and it's all too often neglected.
