I have an outdoor granite table that a candle melted in the sun on I removed the wax but there is a stain in the stone I think maybe oil from the candle I have tried many things from acetone to stripper and it is still there is there anything else I could try? Thanks

Don't despair: we should be able to get to the bottom of this thing!...

To remove a deeply imbedded stain you need to apply a poultice to it, not just rubbing it with some chemical. But before we go into the poultice thing, we have to make sure that every residue of wax is removed from the stone. So, the first step is to use a couple of sheets of Bounty paper towel (I insist on the brand Bounty). You place the two sheets over the stain and then you go over them with a pressing iron several times. Use it without steam. The heat will liquefy any possible residue of wax and the Bounty paper towel will absorb it up.

At the end of this, there's also the possibility that the stain is gone already, but if you still have some discoloration…

When it comes to stain removal, either you buy one of those expensive “Professional kits” (that true professionals seldom use!) at a stone retailer near you, or you can spend less money and get our comprehensive guidelines on how to remove stains by using inexpensive and far more effective means that you may already have in your household!
