honed slate on a kitchen floor

We just installed honed slate in our extremely busy kitchen floor and even though it has been sealed twice already when oil or food is spilled on it, it stains it for a few days before the stain is dissapeared. Is this normal or do we need to seal one more time? Was it a mistake to put this kind of stone in such a busy kitchen? What would red wine stain do to it? Please advice.

Dear Nadia:

" Was it a mistake to put this kind of stone in such a busy kitchen?"

Beyond huge!! :-(

" What would red wine stain do to it?"

I don't know exactly, but nothing good for sure!

" Please advice"

The image of a jack-hammer is crossing my mind as I type this...
But hey, there's a silver lining to all this: it's only money!... :-)
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli
