Care for Volga Blue Granite

Hi Maurizio, I recently had Volga Blue granite installed in our Kithchen. Recently I have noticed it turning brown...what is going on with it??? Also it does not seem to be as shiny as it was when it was first installed. Do you recommend a sealer or polish for this? Thanks, Rose Alghini-Abrams

Dear Rose:

I am a total loss here. :-(

How recentely is recently for you? What have you been using on a routine basis to clean your countertop? Did the fabricator/installer apply any impregnating/sealer to it? (I sure hope not!)

These are situtations that can only be evaluated and (possibly) solved over a physical inspection of the stone. Yours is one such situation.
One thing I can promise you right here and now: no sealer or polish or anything else in a bottle could ever do the first thing to rectify your situation - whatever that may be.
My strong recommendation is to consult with a proficient and reputable stone restoration contractor in your neck of the woods.
I sincerely hope that I'm totally wrong on this one, but it could very well be that your stone was maliciously doctored by the factory.
In such case, only marblecleaning.org could help you out.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?   :-)

Ciao and good luck,
