The reason why it is not advisable to use bleach is not because travertine is porous. (In fact, it is not very porous.) It is rather due to the fact that bleach reacts chemically with the main makeup of the stone.
That said, there's a product that works like bleach and is safe on any natural stone, namely MB-9 that will do the service for you.
But that is not the only thing that you have to learn about caring for your valuable stone…
