Well, it all depends on what you're going to put on your bedside tables and vanity table. Marble-onyx is very sensitive to acidic substances, and therefore you must be careful not to put, say, any glass with a drink in it, unless you have a good coaster under it. It is also prone to scratching, being a “soft” stone; but if you use some common sense while placing hard objects onto it, you shouldn't have any major problem.
Of course, you will need to know how to take care of your stone!
