juperana bianco

You must be sick of us all uneducated idiots. OK. I have dark cabinets and we (I) chose and installed the above (juperana bianco)granite. I wanted everything in my kitchen to be beautiful (ofcourse), but, practical first. I thought, great, light granite, I can see what I am doing. Imagine my surprise when this stupid white/gray thing began to absorb... WATER!!! OK. What's done is done. How do I deal with this porous sponge of a rock. It has been sealed 2x. Should I use Ultra Pro Porous Stone Sealer? Or, Stain-Proof? My eye is twitching from the stress and the expense, but what can I do but deal. Another Uneducated Dummy, Victoria PS Is this thing even granite? It has what looks like crystal or quarts in it.

Dear Victoria:
Your only hope to finish the sealing job is to keep applying the same sealer that was applied originally as many times as it takes, waiting 24 hours between each application. Switching makes is always a chanchy proposition.

" Is this thing even granite?"

Not even close, of course, but don't ask me what it is: there are so many Juparanas (whatever the heck it means) on the market, that I lost count long ago. (Nor do I care to ever catch up!) For instance, Juparana Bianco?... I never even heard of it until now!
