Black Mold on Carrara marble statue

I have a 5' carrara marble statue that has black mold and some brown spots on it.I have clean it three times with soap and water this last time I also use a Sproaside on it to kill the mold. It comes clean each time only to come back later. Can you give me any advise.

Dear Glynn:

Aside from the fact that you should have never used a product like that on natural stone, I think that you'd be better off by trying to solve the real problem instead of working on its consequences, don't you?... J

Your best bet is to consult with a reputable stone restoration contracting company in your area and have them find you the reason of your mildew. After that and once the problem has been taken care of, you will tackle the mildew with a mildew stain remover rated for “natural stone” like MB-9.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
