black granite tiles

we have "black granite" tile countertops in our kitchen. the tile company came out to acid was our grout on the floor & also did the grout on our granite countertops. now our granite has several areas of blotching..areas of dark black & then a lighter black/gray almost like it is fogged. what is causing this? and can it be fixed? thanks

Dear Kim:

The acid damaged your tiles by etching them permanently.

Only a proficient stone restoration contractor could tackle that problem, but just to give you an idea, if I were still a contractor and live near you, I would not consider taking the job.

Why?

Because you could not pay me enough!… Meaning that it would be cheaper to replace them.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
