dull finish
I have a polished stone floor in my kitchen which is high traffic some areas have dulled after a short time since installation is there any way to renew the polished look and preserve the floor?

Of course there is a way! It's called stone restoration, and it represents the most difficult contracting activity you can think of. (I kid you not!)
Certainly not a DIY project, I can tell you that!
Now, about the preservation part, the answer is, no.
Bottom line: the only way to bring the polish back to your stone tiles is through the expensive services of a bona-fide stone restoration contractor (plenty of quacks out there!), while preserving it is impossible. And that is the very reason why nobody should ever consider using polished marble in a kitchen.
I mean, would you ever consider installing mirror tiles on your kitchen floor?
That's what I thought!...
But the fact is that you'd be much better off with mirrors than marble! Not only is glass harder than marble (and therefore more sratch resistant), but it is not sensitive to acid, while marble is, and very much so.
The silver lining in all this is... Hey, it's only money! :-)
