Is travertine that has been sealed a good choice for a bathroom countertop. We are remodeling our bathroom, and using tumbled marble and ceramic on the floors and the shower and was wondering what to use on the countertop. Thanks, Joy

I all depends on how good a routine care you will use on it, which the sealing is not certainly part of. I mean, who wants/needs to seal travertine anyway and for what??…

Try to get the right intelligence about every day care, for a change. The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is – as it should be intuitive – vastly more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable, which in this cas is simply ridicolous) and it's all too often neglected.
