darkening and sealing cantera floor

I had this done and the sealer pooled and left shiny spots throught out the floor. We are stripping and wanted suggestions on what type of products to use. Thanks.

Dear Carla:
Cantera, huh... Do they still sell that stuff?

About your problem, why don't you call back the “Michelangelo” that you paid to do the job to take care of his own mess?... Never mind, I think I already know the answer!

Impregnating sealers and color-enhancer are not like waxes or something that you can strip easily. The best way to find out what to use is to get hold of the manufacturer of the product(s) that were used and ask for avice. If you can't find that out, unless you want to “kill” yourself by using some potent paint-stripper based on Methylene Chloride, the best course of action is to hire a professional stone restoration contractor that will remove the dried-on excess of the product with a good-quality honing powder.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
