waxy substance from granite

Our newly installed silver sea green granite has been oozing a waxy substance a very small amount at a time which goes away when I clean it with a product my husband bought at home depot called "stone specific" "polished granite cleaner and resealer". There may also be some small pits forming in the granite. This product says it contains "limonene, water and sodium. Thanks for your help with this!

Dear Barbara:

Regardless of the content of the product that you mentioned, I never liked cleaners/re-sealers products. How do you know that your stone has to be resealed? How do you know that your stone has to be sealed at all?

That said, I don't believe that the mysterious waxy substance has anything to do with the cleaner, for you mentioned that the phenomenon started before that.

I guess it's a heavily doctored slab that was somehow waxed with something to make it appear a higher grade than it is in reality. I also guess that you fabricator owes you some serious and credible explanation.

Keep as posted.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
