marble countertops

We put polished carrera countertops in our kitchen about a year ago and love them. I had 2 questions though. 1.-What is the best way to clean them on a daily/weekly basis. The installer sold me something called "super shine all" but I was not sure of it. I want to know I am using the right product inthe right way to take care of the stone. 2.- Also, recently I noticed some green tones in the darker veins. It may have been there all along and I just now noticed, but I was concerned that it might be mold. It is only in the darker vein areas and I see it in many areas of our counter that are always dry. Any thoughts?

Dear Lindsey:

I'm not familiar at all with that product, but by the sound of it, I understand it more like a wax than a cleaner. Assuming that's a wax and that you want a cleaner, then MB-5 is an excellent product to clean polished stone surfaces.

As for the greenish darker veining, I wouldn't worry about it. They were probably there since the beginning. There's no reason that you could have mold developing on an open stone like that.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
