Dear Maurizio, We recently had a Giallo Nova granite counter top installed on our kitchen but we can't seem to find more information about its care and maintenance. Does it go by other names and can you comment on its suitability as a kitchen counter top? - I know it's already too late but we still want to know :) Also, we were told by the fabricator that the he had sealed the slabs however, we can see dark water stains (temporary) near the faucet area. Should we re-seal it ourselves for good measure? Thank you for your input, Rod

Giallo Nova is a stone from China. Other than that I don't know much specific about it. However, I have no reason to believe that it would require maintenance procedures and products any different than any other granite or “granite” on the market.

As for the additional sealing, if you wish you could do so, making sure to use the very product that your fabricator started the sealing with. It is always a little gamble switching brands: there's no guarantee that the new impregnator will work properly.

Other than that, keep in mind that the issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is – as it should be intuitive – vastly more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable) and it's all too often neglected. As you can tell by reading many of this site's postings, you're not likely to get good information about routine care from your dealer or installer. Don't become another statistic!
