Travertine Floor - slippery in shower stall

We have a problem with a travertine floor that is in a shower it has been sealed and it is now very slippery. My question is what can we do to the travertine floor to keep it from being slippery is there some type of product that we can by and put on the floor of the shower.

Dear Kelly:

I really fail to see any even remote relation between the application of a totally useless (under the circumstances) impregnator to your travertine tiles and its slipperiness issue. That duly said, I have to assume that your tiles are pretty large (maybe still 12” x 12”?...). In the floor of a shower stall it is always best to install 4” x 4” tiles with a 1/8” grout gap: this will solve the slipperiness problem once and for all.

Other than that, I really don't know what to tell you. There's no product that you could put on your tiles to make them non-slippery.

Now remember, it's never too early to think about the proper maintenance of your stone. The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is – as it should be intuitive – vastly more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable) and it's all too often neglected. As you can tell by reading many of this site's postings, you're not likely to get good information about routine care from your dealer or installer. Don't become another statistic! By logging into the Helpful Hints section of our website at:   http://www.mbstone.com/HH_promo/helpful_hints.htm , you will be able to get the short version of our maintenance guidelines at no charge.
