honed black absolute stains

I have read ALL the questions and answers pertaining to this pesky granite that I have in my kitchen. The countertops are four years old and get tons of use, as I am a pastry chef. I know you recommend a color enhancer, but how do I get the rings and other stains out before I apply the color enhancer? You mention that it will take a lot of labor--how is it done, and if I do need a "poultice," what kind of poultice is that? thank you so much for taking the time to answer all these questions.

No, I don't think that you will need a poultice: most likely those stains are only surface stains that are tenaciously clinging to the “roughness” of the hone finish. What you have to do is too “flood” you countertop with a heavy-duty alkaline cleaner rated for natural stone, like MB-2 in the maximum concentration allowed by the directions printed on the bottle. Let it sit there for half an hour or so (feed it some more if it dries in spots) and then scrub it slightly with a laundry-brush or something like that. Sponge up the solution, rinse it thoroughly with plenty of water a few times, and then perform a final deep-cleaning with acetone (available at any hardware stores).

At that point your countertop should be ready for the MB-6 treatment.
