Travertine coffee table |
Article Number: 1121 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Thu, Jan 31, 2008 at 12:00 AM |
I recently purchased a coffee table in a second-hand store The table has a travertine top. It looked blotchy but I thought I would be able to restore it by cleaning it with travertine cleaner and sealing it. It did not work. It is clean now but the blotchy areas feel a little rough like very fine sandpaper. Please tell me how to restore the top without involving a restoration pro. Thank you. Chris
Dear Chris:
A travertine cleaner, huh… I'm wondering what it means?!...

And then you used a sealer, huh… Good idea!! What did it do for you?... Let me take a wild guess:
nothing!!
I mean: how could you possibly expect that a product that's formulated to go below the surface of the stone to help prevent staining could produce a glossy finish on your table top??... Didn't you read the label of the product before buying it?

I will – providing that you first tell me what I should do to fix my hernia by myself without involving a surgeon.
