Sealer Coverage

How many square feet will a gallon of sealer cover? I am doing a full marble bath (Ice beige and emperador dark) and granite tile (peacock jade) kitchen counter top? Thank you, J Petrie

Dear J Petrie:

Assuming that Peacock Jade is another name for Peacock Green, if the entire world was veneered with the stones that you have, 1 GL of impregnator will cover the entire planet and then the moon, too! J

Translation #1: there are only two chances to seal those stones: no way and no how.

Translation #2: those stones are too dense to absorb a darn thing, including the impregnator (what you call sealer).

Translation #3: forget about the sealing thing and learn some basic intelligence about the proper installation and routine maintenance of your stones instead, which, as it should be intuitive, is vastly more important than the sealing – if and when possible and/or advisable.

By logging into the Helpful Hints section of our website at:   http://www.mbstone.com/HH_promo/helpful_hints.htm , you will be able to get the short version of our maintenance guidelines at no charge. The full version of it – a 7-page document considered by many as an industry benchmark – is available in pay-per-download format in our Educational Literature section at:   http://www.mbstone.com/literature/literature.htm . In there you will also find priceless tips on natural stone installation.

And remember, every single penny of the cost of the literature will be used to support this site and its cause: your cause.
