Corrosion on green tumbled marble

Q. Hi. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to refinish tumbled marble at the bottom of my shower where the shower curtain rests. It corroded the surface. Can it be refinished or should I replace?
A. It depends on the severity of the corrosion. It may be able to be refinished. Contact a stone restoration contractor in your area to do an evaluation. You may also want to find out why the shower curtain corroded the stone. Is it possible you are using acid based cleaners? You can locate a qualified stone restoration contractor at www.stoneandtilepros.com/findapro.php.
