Travertine- chisel- french pattern

Q.Hello, I just had this tile installed and it appeared that when they grouted, they filled in the seems as well as the pits/holes in the stone. Is this correct or should they fill the holes in with something else? Also, should the filling fill the holes up completely so that the holes are even with the face of the stone? My fillings seem to not be filled completely.
A.Hello Kuyen-It could be considered correct if thats what the plan was. There are choices such as filled travertine,or a grind in place installation where the travertine is leveled and filled with grout or epoxy fill. The only way to fill them level is to flatten the floor then float the fill material over it .Once it cures it can be ground off using diamond abrasives giving your floor a great look. But this all needs to be discussed prior to the job being started.
