Sealing Limestone pavers on a patio

My husband and I just installed a limestone patio in our backyard and are debating whether or not to seal it. I would like to in order to minimize stains from food (wine) spillage but he says that it wouldn't make a difference. What do you say, and if you think we should seal it, what product should we use?

Dear Ghislaine:
Outdoor stone should never be sealed - end of the debate!... :-)
Stains will occur but a few hard rains and the good ol' sun will take care of them.
The question is: regardless of the tiny problem represented by staining, have you chosen the right stone?
You mentioned limestone and unfortunately, unless you chose travertine, the odds are not on your side...
But I don't want to be a pessimist...:-)

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm? J

Ciao and good luck,
