chalky honed limestone

I clean houses, and have a client with honed limestone counter tops in his kitchen. They are sealed, and were installed when the house was built, less than 6 months ago. I clean them with a neutral PH cleaner. After I clean it, I can rub my hand across it and feel tiny sand like rocks. If I come back an hour or so later - I can wipe a chalky residue off thats visible on my fingers. Can you tell me what causes this? Is there any way to fix it? Thank you.

Answerikng to your last question first, the answer is, no. There's no way to fix that.

Now to the causes:

Well, it's quite simple; by saying limestone you're saying very little – if anything at all. There are many different (and I do mean different) kinds of limestone that span from dense and (almost) acceptable rocks, to limestone that will actually fall apart under running water or turn into powder, and everything in between. So which limestone are you dealing with?

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that's a very crappy one!!... But I bet that's pretty!... J
