Hello Just reiceved a piece of Labradorrite I think its granite I would like to polish it for a small hearth below my oil stove what product do you have
Dear Tony:
If it's labradorite, how could it possibly be granite??...
As for the polishing, I suggest the following in increasing order of importance:
1. Polishing powder for silicate rocks;
2. Before that, specialized diamond pads for silicate rocks to prepare the surface of the stone for polishing by honing it;
3. A specialty variable-speed right-angle grinder/polisher with a 4" backer pad to hold the diamond pads and a 7" pad holder with a white hog-hair polishing pad;
4. A good 2 to 3 day class on stone face polishing;
5. A few months of field practice.
I can supply you with all of the above but the last one.
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli |
