Limestone Problem.. HELP PLEASE!

Q. We have a new unsealed limestone shower and cleaned it with Soft Soap bathroom cleaner and Bon Ami powder. Now we have white steaks in the limestone. We have no idea what to do. What can we do to fix this. Extreme Thanks! Jay

A. Jay, Unfortunately both products you mentioned are not appropriate for limestone. It sounds like you may have etched the surface. You will need to call a professional stone restoration contractor that will need to hone and repolish it. Once this is done make sure to use only products designed for stone. Please download and read our Stone Care Guide.

(By the way, if it had been sealed that wouldn't have prevented what occurred.)
