Cleaning Travertine

Q.We are about to welcome a puppy into our home. This puppy is bound to have accidents on our travertine floor. What do we use to clean up the accident and elminate the odor? Most of the information we've seen says to use vinegar but I know that can't be used on these floors. Also, when an accident does occur, and causes etching, what do we do we do to erase the mark? Thanks.
Hi Lisa-Yep the dog is going to have accidents on the floor. If the trav is polished and I hope its not you will have
a potential mess.If its honed it will be less of a mess but either way try and keep the puppy off that floor till he is house broken. As far as cleaning and odor prevention use our mb-2 heavy duty cleaner for stone surfaces.Dont use the vinegar its acidic. As far as etching from dog urine if its polished you may need to call a pro.If its honed well maybe you could work it out with some silicon carbide sandpaper and some scruby pads but you will probably need a pro.Whatever you do dont blame the dog.
This brings back memories ,I can remember my dad saying after you clean the floor dont forget to walk the dog.
