Granite stains

I have fitted a kitchen and my customer has had granite splash backs and worktops fitted, the granite supplied was bonne accord fitted with clear silicone. Large Dark patches have appeared and after 3 months are obviously not goin to disappear. The customer rightly has not paid for the granite yet but the supplier says its our fault as we have used too much silicone on fitting but I think there could be a problem with the granite. i would value your advice having searched your site I cannot find an exact problem, thank you

Dear Paul:

1.     That “granite” is a “sponge”.

2.     You must make sure that you're using 100% silicone, not a mix. 100% silicone does not wick like that one you used obviously did.

3.     What to do about the stains now? Not much, really: they're there for keeps, I'm afraid. L

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
