So all I need is MB 5?

We want to put stone countertops in our kitchen. After doing some research I have tenatively chosen San Gabriel Black (Brazil Black) and Mesabi Black "granite" with polished finishes, do you know of any reason why I shouldn't use one or the other? According to the test data I have found they both have very low absorbtion rates, are very hard, the samples passed the lemon/oil test, and (finally) they look good. Have I missed anything? The fabricator I have found will rod (re-inforce) the counter with the sink cutouts but not the rest... is this acceptable? And I will insist that they do not seal the stone, which means all I need is MB 5 for regular cleaning. Is this right? Lastly - do you ever come to Texas? :-)

Dear Amelia:

You're right on the money on everything and you did not miss a thing! J

As for the rodding, it is certainly not necessary to rod anywhere else.

About your last question, well, occasionally I do come to Texas if the business takes me there. But why do you ask? Would you like to buy me lunch or somethin'…? Besides, just in case you haven't noticed, Texas is pretty big state! J

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri zio Bertoli
