Travertine bathroom has been stained a different colour |
Article Number: 174 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Mon, Jul 9, 2007 at 12:00 AM |
Hi Maurizio, I've recently bought an apartment, and the previous owner did some DIY work and "stained" the travertine floor tiles in the bathroom a reddish brown, they left the wall tiles in their natural state. I suspect you're going to tell me that there is no way to reverse this (which is a shame) so is there any way I can re-stain them a more acceptable colour? Thanks Hege
Dear
Hege:
Yeah, you suspected right
!... :-(
Unfortunately (and proudly so) I don't know the first thing about staining stone!! Not to mention that I have no idea what your definition of “acceptable” is. On e thing is for sure: assuming that there something out there to stain stone (they probably used wood stain), you could stain it darker than it is now – never lighter…
Where from down under are you? I'll be there next week to teach a 3-day class in
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

:-)
Ciao and good luck,
Mauri
