Rust remover stain on Zodiaq

I have a rust remover stain on my black Zodiaq countertop. Will MB 11 help? Thanks.

Dear George:

No, MB-11 will not help one bit.

Only an extremely proficient stone restoration contractor who cares to get involved with manmade engineered stone could pull that off. I really don't know if there are a do z en of those (if those many) in the whole country! The restoration of the damage itself is not difficult, of course, but is the final phase of the process, the polishing that's a female dog! The presence of approximately 20% or better of epoxy-resin in the mix making up engineered stone makes it extremely difficult to spot polish to match the rest of the surface. It is difficult with natural granite and mercantile granite, almost impossible with engineered stone.

Yes, I know the claim of the manufacturers of engineered stone is that's 94% Quart z and 6% Epoxy (or something like that). But that's a percentage by weight, not by volume (quart z particles' specific gravity is much higher than epoxy). By volume – which is what counts when it comes to refinishing – the percentages are estimated anywhere between 75% : 25%  and 80% : 20%.

Sorry… L

Ciao and good luck,
