polished marble tiles

Dear Sir, I have bought marble tiles that is being laid in my lounge I have found many chips at the ends, some cracks on top, uneven almost cutting on some of the surfaces. The shades differ massively. The people I bought the marble from tell me its only because it's a natural product, and it has to be coated with something, repolished and rebuffed. I am concerned that they are trying to pull the wool over my eye. I would be grateful for your help. Thank you.

Dear Jacqueline:
The short answer to that is: Demand your money back and tell them that they are darn lucky if you won't report their baloney to the D.A. office!
Going by your report, what they're trying to sell you is inferior-quality stone, period. No coating or re-polishing or rebuffing should ever be necessary when the tiles are brand-new.
Go shop somewhere else!
Does the world need marblecleaning.org, or what?!... :-)
