hard water stain on granite

Maurizio, I read a response you had for someone regarding this matter. My concern is whether using a razor blade will do any harm to the seal on the granite. I read your comment: We have granite countertops in our kitchen and bathrooms. in the kitchen we are having a problem with hard water build up around the faucet. What can we do to get rid of the build up? Dear Nichole: I wish that every question was so easy to answer to!... Remove the worst with a razor blade and then finish the job with a soap film and mineral deposit remover rated "for natural stone" like MB-3 Easy enought for you?... :-)

Dear Yong:

My concern is whether using a ra z or blade will do any harm to the seal on the granite.

The seal on the granite??... And what exactly would that be??... If an impregnator (a.k.a. sealer) was applied to your stone at the time of the installation, it is certainly not on the surface, for all impregnators are strictly below-the-surface products, and therefore you can't remove them with anything.

So, other than that, what seal are you making reference to??...

Stone is polished mechanically by abrasion and friction, like gemstone, not by slapping some sealer on it!

My previous answer that you copied and pasted stands. J
