Marble refinishers in San Jose, CA

Hi Maurizio, I sent a question earlier about Carrera mable. I have since been avidly purusing your website and obtaining much useful information. It appears that if I choose to go with Marble for my kitchen countertops, I must be prepared for some discoloration of this natural product. I would purchase it honed to minimize the effects, but still expect some "staining". If I choose to have it re-finished in the future, could you recommend any person or companies in the San Jose, CA area? Thank you! Diana PS Are you originally from Italy?

Dear Diana:

I was 37 when I moved from Parma , Italy to the US of A in 1981 and didn't speak one word of Englis. My wife, Lura and our two sons (then 10 and 5) didn't speak any English, either... Our Northern Italian accent can testify to that!  J

If you choose to have it professionally refinished every now and then, you can take a look at the list of professionals who support marblecleaning.org at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/supporters.htm.

But if you start from a honed surface, you could do most of the repairs stemming from acidic spills (etchings) yourself o any half-handy person in your household. Of course, a professional would be better, but you have an option.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri z io Bertoli
