soapstone countertop

Maurizio, I am very interested in using soapstone for my kitchen counters. I have found what I believe to be a very reputable fabricator with excellent craftsmanship, based on their past work. The company imports soapstone from Brazil, and the installed work appears seamless. Are there any other considerations that you can think of before I proceed further? Also, would you comment in a general sense about the care and durability of soapstone? Thank you in advance.

And that is why it is one of my very favorite materials for a kitchen countertop.

As for the care of soapstone, besides the oc cas ional treatment with mineral oil (which is not even mandatory), all you need is a decent stone spray cleaner for routine care, like MB-5 – and nothing else!

And it also looks like you have a great fabricator: good for you!
