we need a honed slab, & all we can get in our area is polished. How can we hone that slab (2cm)Can you suggest anything. thank you
Dear Melinda:
That is typical; but what seems to be the problem?
You get an orbital sander, and then using metal-grade sandpaper starting from a 60 or 80 grit you do the honing. After that, you will go through the grits and stop at 240, or 400… Whatever you like. (I would personally stop at 200/240, but personal preferences can be different.)
And… it's going to be better than factory finish, that's for sure! Not to mention the fun and the pride of a job well done!

If after that you like to deepen the color at the same hue as it was when polished, you can apply a good quality stone color enhancer/impregnator resistant to acidic substances like MB-6.
After that, all you need to use to care for it, is a good quality stone spray cleaner like MB-5.
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

Ciao and good luck,
